Faux feeling Something done to me
Vindicated
Not a feeling: a thought about what someone did.
Also known as righted
‘I think it has been shown that I was right, or the wrong done to me has been put right.’
Why it’s not a feeling
Vindicated is a ruling more than a feeling: events or other people have shown you were right, or a wrong has been set right. It describes an outcome and how others now see you, which makes it a judgement. What you feel is the relief of the argument being over, and perhaps a quieter satisfaction.

Saying it as a feeling
‘I feel vindicated.’
When the council wrote to say the parking fine had been issued in error and refunded the £70, I felt relieved and satisfied, because I need fairness and acknowledgement.
