Faux feeling A need dressed up as a feeling
Seen
Not a feeling: a need, named as met or missing.
Also known as noticed
‘I think you notice me and what I bring.’
Why it’s not a feeling
Seen puts the need to be seen in the place of a feeling. It claims that someone noticed you and what you bring, which is your view of them, not your inner state. When that view is true, the feeling may be a lift of gladness or being quietly touched.

Saying it as a feeling
‘I feel seen.’
When you asked how my pottery class was going, three weeks after I’d mentioned it once, I felt touched and glad, because I need acknowledgement and to be seen.
