Faux feeling Something done to me
Admired
Not a feeling: a thought about what someone did.
Also known as looked up to
‘I think you think highly of me.’
Why it’s not a feeling
Admired is a guess about what goes on in someone else’s mind: that they think highly of you. It passes the ‘you admired me’ test, so it reports their regard rather than your own state. When you sense that regard, the feelings may be pride, gladness or being touched.

Saying it as a feeling
‘I feel admired.’
When you asked to see my sketches and pinned two of them on your wall, I felt proud and touched, because I need recognition and appreciation.
